Legoland Windsor Woodland Village

Legoland Woodland Village, April 2025

As we had a few days planned at Legoland Windsor, it made sense to stay on site, so we booked ourselves a night at the Woodland Village.

We spent night one of our roadtrip at Premier Inn Slough West (Trading Estate) just 15 minutes from Legoland Windsor, but as our plan involved dropping Jo and Elliott at Legoland for the day whilst me and Evan went to Thorpe Park, we wanted somewhere easy for them to go while they waited for us, incase we were stuck in a 2 hour queue for Hyperia at the end of the day.

Welcome to the Legoland Windsor Woodland Village

We chose to revisit the Woodland Lodge at Legoland Windsor. It was the same price as the main Legoland Hotel, but it’s newer, cleaner and the food options at the Clubhouse were better for evening meals and breakfasts. Not sure if this is still true, but thats what we’ve found.

Woodland Lodge Cost

Not gonna lie, it isn’t cheap. Including our Merlin Annual Pass discount, a night at the Legoland woodland Lodge, including breakfast for 2 adults and 2 children, cost us £310. This time, the adventure golf was not included in the cost. Without the annual pass discount, this stay, during the school holidays for the night would be £388, which is pretty steep. For context, we just stayed for a week at the new Universal Hotel in Orlando, the Stella Nova Resort, just across the road from their brand new theme park Epic Universe. A week at Stella Nova cost us £550. Seven nights at a brand new hotel on resort hotel, without breakfast for only £550. One night at Legoland, £388. Its outrageous. The only benefits are proximity to the park, parking included and early entry, which gets you an extra 30 mins in the park before official opening at 10am. Parking is free with a platinum pass so that was negated, plus you get an hour early at Universal with an on resort stay!

I know its difficult to compare a Universal hotel to Legoland, but you can see what I’m getting at. We’ve stayed at the hotel a few times and the Woodland Lodge twice now, and it seems to be getting more and more expensive. Not sure we’ll be staying again if the price creeps up further as its more unaffordable in current economic climates.

Our Lodge

You can read about our previous stay here for full info on the Lodge, but its a clean, basic room with a comfy king size bed, bathroom/shower and a separate kids room with bunk beds. It is a nice room and we love staying here, its just overpriced. The room has a small fridge, some desktop fans and a heater. The décor is great and you get the fun activities for the kids too.

The Clubhouse

We love the Clubhouse, its a great central hub area that houses the reception, Clubhouse shop and the restaurant and bar. It looks great with its faux wooden build facade and Minifigs, the build pits and show stage for the kids and general Lego village theming. We took advantage of the quiet spell at the shop to scan some series Minifigs with an app to pick up a few that we’d missed. Gave the kids something to do while waiting for breakfast.

Evening Dining

We stayed at the Woodland Lodge over the Easter holidays, and they had a special menu available over at the Clubhouse, so we managed to book a table for the evening. Dining at The Clubhouse is great. Lovely theming and atmosphere. The staff were helpful and the food was good too. From the Easter Menu we tried the Lamb Kofta Pizza (£18.00) and the Button Mushroom Risotto (£15.75). Both were lovely, especially the Lamb Kofta Pizza. I had to try and recreat it a few weeks later at home. Was nice, but not as good. The kids enjoyed their pepperoni pizza (£18.25), which they always do. Legoland pizzas are always nice. They also had an Easter drinks menu. Jo tried the Spring Refresher – a fruity mocktail type drink for £6.50, but they also had a Creme Egg Martini for £12.50. No thanks.

With those and a few drinks, the meal came to £71.50, or £57.20 with our 20% Annual Pass discount. Its not cheap, but far from overpriced for food and drink. A pint was £8.00 as an example. I’ve paid more elsewhere! The discount makes things more reasonable though.

Clubhouse Breakfast

As with our last visit, the breakfast was nice. You get the option of what you want and they bring it over. Cooked breakfast, Kids breakfasts, and vegetarian options. All arrived and were cooked well and tasted great. We’ve had breakfasts at the hotel that came out so quick that were cold and felt like they’d been standing a while, they are much better here at the Clubhouse. They also have self serve pastries and cereals, along with hot drinks and fruit juices. They were short on cups for the hot drinks and the fruit juices were missing some options, but generally it’s a good breakfast experience.

Out and About

The exterior of the Woodland Village is brilliant. Each section has a central green, surrounded by lodges and its own little play park area. All around you’ll see brilliant Minifigs holding the signs to tell you which area you’re in. It looks fantastic. You could enjoy a sunny morning walking around, investigating all the brick build woodland creatures. The kids are given a nature trail to follow too!

Worth the Money?

Overall, we do like it here, but the cost feels like its become astronomical. It looks great, the rooms are nice, but nigh on £400 for a bed for the evening, is a bit much, especially when you can get a Premier Inn nearby for sub £100. OK, its not the same experience, but there isn’t much of an experience if you’re all day in the park and just want to sleep. I’d recommend staying if its within your budget, but don’t feel it’s worth overstretching to do. You could probably just walk around the village and see everything without staying and drive to a cheaper hotel elsewhere. And not that you’d need to stay many days here, but for the cost of 3 nights, you could probably get a week abroad!
