Not a theme park or attraction, no castles or Lego, but it’s food, so indulge me.
Ever been to Archies? We hadn’t, but the bright pink everywhere drew us in like Magpies, so we thought we’d give it a whirl. It’s just across from the Legoland Discovery Centre at Trafford Palazzo in the Trafford Centre, and after a morning at Legoland and Sea Life Centre, we were a bit hungry.

What is Archies?
Archies is basically a fast-food joint. It’s a bit like a Burger King, but tastier. Like an ‘elevated’ Burger King. And did I mention everything was pink?

Tables: pink. Chairs: pink. Trays: pink. Burger wrappers, boxes, walls, lights, menus, mayonnaise, everything: pink. There was even a display of plastic guns hanging from the ceiling – also pink.
They had several variations on a tasty cheeseburger on offer, along with fries and such but there were loads of different options to try. Wraps, wings, loaded fries and tots, veggie burgers, chicken burgers, mac and cheese bites, waffles, ice creams and shakes. It all sounded great.

We ordered the Sweet Alabama Burger (2 smashed patties, cheese, maple glazed turkey bacon, onions & BBQ sauce), Cheesy Tots (with jalapenos and hot cheese sauce), the BBQ bacon cheesy fries, Mac & Cheese bites and a lemonade – Pink lemonade, obviously! You order at the screen, take a buzzer, wait for it to buzz and go get your food!

How was the food?
It was great. Everything we ordered tasted fantastic. The burger was tasty and juicy, the tots were lovely too. Tots and fries had plenty of topping, and it was all hot. Not like a Maccies with cold chips. The kids smashed their mac & cheese bites, and the pink lemonade was tangy, but tasty!

Archies Prices
It’s not cheap, but it’s far from extortionate. You want a fancy Burger King; you pay for a fancy Burger King. My initial thoughts were that it was quite expensive, but if you look at the cost of a Big Mac these days, it’s not that bad. It cost us £32 for the burger, tots, fries, bites and a drink. Beef burger options range from £6-£11.50, chicken burgers around £8, fries and sides from £2.75-£5.50. I’ve added a pic of the menu.

Any Good?
It was probably one of the best fast-food burgers I’ve had in a long time. Pricey for what it is, but a great treat. A menu full of great options and all tasted good too! The bright pink 80’s diner feel was fun and it’s somewhere we’ll definitely come back to in the future, and I’ve got my eye on the Nashville chicken burger!
Extending the Archies Fun

Further down from the fast-food restaurant was Archie Atomic – a roller skating and arcade centre, also hard to miss and bright pink. It even has a pink monster truck outside. So, if you want to live up that 80’s vibe and make a day out of just Archies, check it out. We’ll pop in and take a look at the arcade side of it, but I doubt I’d be doing any skating. It also has an Ice Cream kiosk window outside into Trafford Palazzo for some passing treats.
